SIU Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement (DICE)

In 2018, UAct partnered with SIU School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine to help facilitate implementation of the SIU Internal Medicine Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement (DICE) programs. DICE connects SIU resident physicians and students with underserved people for in-depth, guided discussions around topics of implicit bias in health care, cultural stigmas and more. SIU pays program coordinator and facilitator, DeAndre Neal, through UAct. UAct participates in the ongoing development of the programs, provides technical assistance to help guide their implementation and provides DeAndre Neal with guidance and support to assist him to successfully fulfill his responsibilities.
